Update Ancestral Quest to the Latest Build

First, we will check to see if you need the update. Open up Ancestral Quest if you have not already done so, and go to the Internet menu located at the top of any main AQ screen. Click on Check for Latest AQ Release, which will bring you to the Ancestral Quest website.

When the website comes up, it will tell you one of two things:

Your copy of Ancestral Quest is up to date, and if so, you can stop the tutorial now.
Your program needs to be updated. If this is the case, then right-click on AQ14s.exe.

In the right-click menu, select Save link as... for Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. For Internet Explorer, select Save target as...

In the Save As menu, select the Desktop as your download destination. This is to ensure that you can easily find the installer in just a minute.

Minimize your internet browser to get it out of the way for now. You can do this by clicking on the minimize button which is located in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. It's the minus button that is just to the left of the X.

Close Ancestral Quest by clicking on the X in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. We need to do this because the installer can't run properly if Ancestral Quest is currently open.

On your Desktop, double click on the AQ14s icon, which will begin the installation setup

On the Security Warning window, click Run.

Click Yes to continue.

Click Next to continue.

Read the License Agreement and click Yes to continue.

After the setup has complete, select No, I will restart my computer later and click Finish

Now, open Ancestral Quest by double-clicking on the Ancestral Quest 14 shortcut..

Go to the Help menu and click on About Ancestral Quest

Check the version number. If done correctly, the version and build number should now be updated to version 16.0.12. Click OK and you are done with the update process. Congratulations!
