Access FamilySearch's Family Tree Database
Incline Software has worked with FamilySearch to provide users of Ancestral Quest with a means to search, view, and update data in FamilySearch’s free Family Tree database, and has been certified by FamilySearch to do so. When you run AQ for the first time, you will be asked whether you want to activate the FamilySearch tools within AQ. Even with the FamilySearch menu of AQ visible, you will still need a FamilySearch account to access the Family Tree data from within AQ.
If you already have access to the Family Tree through a FamilySearch Account or an LDS FamilySearch Account, simply use that account ID and password when logging into FamilySearch from within AQ.
If you do not have a FamilySearch account, visit www.FamilySearch.org, go to the “Sign In” page, then select the option to create an account. Use this new account ID and password to sign into FamilySearch from within AQ.
Note that if you create a FamilySearch Account rather than an LDS FamilySearch Account, you may need to perform one more task. First attempt to login to FamilySearch in AQ’s login page. If you are successful, then you do not need to perform this next step, but if AQ indicates that the ID and password are not valid, go to this page:
Activate FamilySearch Account
You will need to sign in to FamilySearch one time on this page to activate your account, after which you should be able to login to FamilySearch from within AQ in the future.
